回复 :胆小怕事、身体羸弱的马文·曼格（罗伯·施奈德 Rob Schneider 饰）却一心想成为父亲那样勇猛威武的警察，不过由于性格原因，他充其量只能在警察局证物科担当管理员。生活中他得不到任何尊重，同侪嘲笑，小孩戏弄，甚至连邻居家的狗也欺负他。某天，独自在警察局值班的马文接到报警电话，可是所有警察都去球场尽情玩乐。万般无奈之下，马文独自驾车出警，却遭遇一场严重的车祸，命悬一线。危难之时，他被一个神秘之人搭救，醒来时发现自己毫发无损。然而此后马文却显露出许多动物特有的习性，原来神秘人为其移植了动物器官。马文的生活由此发生巨大转变……

回复 :娟娟（关之琳 饰）是一名护士，一天，在下夜班回家的路上，娟娟遇到了丧心病狂的歹徒，惨遭强暴，出租车司机强哥（尔冬升 饰）成为了唯一的目击证人。不知所措的娟娟并没有选择报警，而是试图隐瞒。让她没有想到的是，不久之后，在医院里，娟娟竟然再一次与歹徒相遇，歹徒又一次玷污了娟娟。在反抗的过程中，娟娟杀死了其中的一名歹徒，而遭到了警方的逮捕。娟娟的同事阿文（夏文汐 饰）找到了出租车司机强哥，要强哥出庭作证，最终，娟娟被无罪释放。然而，事情并没有结束，被娟娟杀死的歹徒，他的哥哥是黑社会的老大，为了替弟弟报仇，阿文也惨遭强暴。

The film starts with verse 67, “O somma luce…” and continues to the end. “O Somma luce” recalls the first words uttered by Empedocles in Danièle Huillet and Jean-Marie Straub’s 1987 The Death of Empedocles—“O himmlisch Licht!…” (O heavenly light!). This extract from Hölderlin’s text is also inserted into their 1989 film Cézanne.“O somma luce” invokes utopia, or better still “u-topos,” Dante, Holderlin, Cézanne… the camera movement, recalling Sisyphus, in the film’s long shots, suggests its difficulty.In O somma luce, with Giorgio Passerone’s Dante and the verse that concluded the Divine Comedy, we find at the extremity of its possibilities, the almost happy speech of a man who has just left earthly paradise, who tries to fully realize the potential of his nature. Between the two we find the story of the world. It is, forgive the comparison, like the kneading of dough. It is the assembling and working of something until it becomes something else… and, in this case, starts to shine. Actually it’s very simple, it’s just a question of opening up to the light material that has been sealed up. Here, the process of kneading is to bring to life and then reveal. The material that is worked on is speech.
