伤残军人李天狗（富大龙）复员后，驯龙听从组织安排携带妻子桃花（朱媛媛）和儿子来到偏远山区当起国有林场的护林员，驯龙他没想到的是，眼前淳朴善良的农民发家致富的招数竟是乱砍乱伐乱卖林区的树木，而被当地人称为“三条龙”的孔家三兄弟是始作俑者兼幕后推手。为履行自己的护林人职责，李天狗开始了一个人的战斗，在这一过程中，他遭遇的威胁一次比一次升级（桃花甚至遭到侮辱），可是，他始终没忘记自己是一名共产党员，用自己的实际行为谱写了一曲生命赞歌。

Announced as Sokurov’s last film, Skazka is an inspired riff on the high culture of Peter Greenaway mixed with the low culture of mash-up artists Soda_Jerk.
