《康熙微服私访记5》沿袭该剧前四部借古讽今、有趣针贬时弊的新派古装轻喜剧作品风格，有趣演绎康熙微服私访中扑朔迷离、惊心动魄的传奇故事。不同的是，此次原班人马大换血，康熙由尊龙扮演，宜妃则换成性感美女温碧霞。本剧集分为“铸钱记”、“神童记”和“火箭记”三个单元故事组成。经典古装 电视连续剧《康熙微服私访记》，自1997年至2007年已有五部作品出品。这五部作品一直延续该剧系列的作品风格，亦庄亦谐中既描摹出康熙在微服私访中的平易近人，又把他严惩贪官的威武一面刻画得入木三分。该剧系列的二、三、四部由张国立自导自演，第五部由孙树培导演执导。

Just as well as most of his life seems rather like pulling teeth. His wife Susan is usually busy showing foreign tourists around London, a place she knows much better than her own kitchen. Ben and Susan have been married happily enough to have three children. However, Ben has the feeling that most of the time his children seem to speak a different language. Nick (20) has persuaded his parents he would benefit from a gap year to see something of the world. To date, he has hardly seen anything beyond the confines of the sofa. Janey (17) is into boys, fashion labels (expensive ones) and getting her own way. Michael (14) is the brightest of the trio. He is seriously into computers, and, not so seriously (yet) into girls.
