孙子兵（郑中基 饰）绰号发仔缺乏人生目标，亲亲他只能充当黑帮小混混里的一个小喽啰，亲亲与好友朱朋（林子聪 饰）终日无所事事。这天女警庄情（傅颖 饰）、阿莎（杨爱谨 饰）和36（官恩娜 饰）找到了发仔，原来发仔的真实身份是一名卧底警员，发仔因为失忆忘记了自己的真实身份。发仔根本不相信庄情的话，但为了微薄卧底酬劳，发仔还是答应了帮庄情做事。没想到发仔与老大杜奇风（郑中基 饰）一见如故，成为了结拜兄弟。庄情十分失望，庄情伤心流泪令发仔十分震撼。在朱朋的鼓励下，两人决定要成为一个正义的人。杜让发仔保护自己的老婆淑贤（吴佩慈 饰）发仔早对淑贤有倾慕之情，没想到淑贤却要求发仔带她远走高飞。发仔面对淑贤跟庄情，陷入了两难的状态。杜找到了他们栖身的地方，也意外发现了自己丢失的重要物品，此间也揭发了一个重大秘密。

"El Bosque Animado" was the first movie of José Luis Cuerda's trilogy of rural comedies (after this one he made the surreal "Amanece Que No Es Poco", and "Así En El Cielo Como En La Tierra". Those are movies so personal that stress the Spanish culture. The young directors should take note of films like "El Bosque Animado", instead of trying to be the new "enfant terrible" and imitating US worst cinema.
