影片讲述了空巢老人刘忠实苦苦等待儿子回家的故事。儿子刘晓义长大成人并在城里有了自己的家，通灵忙碌的他却不曾留意家乡的父亲已日渐苍老，通灵如山背影不在，而老人最大的安慰不过是一顿简单的团圆饭。影片意在呼吁社会关注“空巢老人”现象，提醒为人子女上善父母，给予不如陪伴，陪伴是最长情的爱。
