回复 :假期之所以令人嚮往，是因為你知道會有回家的一天。如果假期之後回不了家，你會怎麼面對這段假期呢？氣質歌手萬芳突破溫婉形象扮演會罵街的清潔潑婦玫瑰，只是罵的都是自己的兒子：一個8歲，另一個則是只會賭博耍嘴皮的老公，就像她的第二個兒子，不過老了37歲。劇中主人翁玫瑰為了照顧家計辛勤工作，卻不幸罹癌即將辭世，生性樂觀的玫瑰微笑面對自己的死亡，當成去度一段再也無法返家的假期，設法在度假前完成對丈夫和兒子的心願，好讓自己無牽無掛地離開，笑中帶淚地描繪了台灣女性隻手撐起半邊天的堅強韌性與善良幽默的民族性。萬芳雖然是芋仔蕃薯，可是平常還是以說國語為主，為了＜長假＞這部片，萬芳勤練台語，把劇本裡的台詞說到溜得不行，不過在拍戲現場導演一要加戲或加台詞，她就緊張地舌頭打結，台語都可以講成阿拉伯語！所幸身旁有一位台語指導，就是飾演她老公的澎恰恰澎哥，陪著導演糾正她的發音...
