电影根据小说《封神演义》改编而来，国内讲述了元始天尊以天地灵气设下封神大阵，国内派天生拥有双翅的羽人一族，在遭逢乱世之际，可利用风雷双翅开启封神大阵。殷商末年，商纣王暴虐无道，羽人族长老为救乱世，将窥天石扔入凡尘，并以一招“狸猫换太子”故意在众人面前将风雷双翅注入双生儿辛环体内，为保真正的“将星”雷震子周全。岁月流转，生来便与众不同的雷震子，渴望像自己的兄弟辛环一样成为天选之子，但他却不知道，命运的齿轮早已开启，他将开启封神大阵的第一站…… 而众星捧月般长大的辛环在意外得知自己只是兄弟雷震子的“挡箭牌”后几度无法接受，在面临义父的抛弃，仙长的追杀后，他不得不与暴戾的闻太师为伍，走上了一条成魔的不归路……
