1976到1992年，亚洲区曼彻斯特，亚洲区一个关于摇滚乐、性和药物的故事。汤尼威尔森和朋友创立著名唱片品牌：Factory，旗下有多个知名乐团，例如Joy Division、Happy Monday，以及在Joy Dividion主唱Ian Curtis自杀后，其余成员组成的New Order。全片以DV拍摄，经由汤尼威尔森的故事探索Factory兴衰历程，重现曼彻斯特当年光辉的音乐风潮。同时也从威尔森的观点，来看Ian Curtis自杀事件。
